The 7th in the series of City Health conferences will take place in Odesa (Ukraine) on 13th and 14th September 2018. The conference-theme 2018 is “Developing healthy responses in a time of change”. This includes changes in political and societal norms, as well as changes in perceptions and expectations within communities. It also provides scope to tackle the important principle of inclusion, with regard to marginalised individuals and groups.
Delegates of NGOs, community projects, advocacy groups, as well as urban and health planners, academics, policy makers and those who deliver services and interventions from around the world will gather to examine how, in the increased urbanisation of society, cities respond to changing populations, changing economic and environmental pressures and adapt to changing health behaviours, to ensure and promote health and wellbeing through engaging diverse groups and cultures.
A call for abstracts will be issued shortly (stand of 05.12.17); the abstracts should be broadly in line with the conference theme ‘Developing healthy responses in a time of change’.
Suggested topics (short version):
- Alcohol, drugs and mental health
- Conflict zones, health emergency preparedness and communicating with and responding to the needs of displaced populations
- IT / Economics
- Managing the urban environment

The closing date for abstracts – oral presentations and/or poster presentations – is 2359 CET on Sunday 1st April 2018.
